What building has been continuously occupied the longest, in history?

I was walking by the hand of a hospital where I worked, and I thought about myself, which has probably been unoccupied since it was built 40 years ago. Hey I wonder ... So, my question is, what do you think is the longest continually occupied building ever built?
This could be any kind of building, just a natural structure like a cave or island or something. And by I have had people inside, one person, 100 people, does not matter so long.
My thought is probably something of a religious reality, but I realize that my Western education has left me severely deficient in knowledge of other cultures. Is there a guard post on the wall that has a rotating shift for a couple of years? A temple in Nepal or something? There are some churches in Europe which have had a long time in the world ... has the Empire State Building ever been empty? Looking forward to your thoughts!
